I
saw reindeer and moose roaming freely through the woods.
Here are some working reindeer, carrying people and goods.
Reindeer
hooves
surprised me- wide, flatly cloven, and huge in proportion to their short
legs. Pie-shaped feet. The better
to trod the earth with.
This lead reindeer decided to take a load off while his keeper gets
the others organized behind him.
I found the reindeer to be sheepdog calm - as well as (sorry) delicious
to eat with juniper berries. Life with no supermarket to buffer reality
brings one up against these choices.
